SUMMARY:2017 Pelican Plunge at The Boardwalk
DESCRIPTION:The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island is hosting its Inaugural Pelican Plunge on Okaloosa Island on Sunday\, January 1\, 2017. Participants will take an invigorating dip into the Gulf of Mexico in support of the Emerald Coast Foundation. \nParticipants will be freezin’ for a reason\, with the $20 participation fee benefiting the Emerald Coast Foundation\, a charitable foundation that works with children’s charities such as ARC of the Emerald Coast\, All Sports Association\, Children in Crisis\, and the Eleanor Johnson Youth Center to fund their causes. The first 100 registrants will receive an exclusive Pelican Plunge long-sleeved shirt. \nThe Crab Trap will be open at 10:00 AM and offer drink specials for those who may need some liquid courage before the plunge. Pre-registration will begin at 10:30 AM at the common area below The Crab Trap and the official splash into the Gulf of Mexico will take place at 11:30 AM. A post-plunge party will also take place at The Crab Trap and include hot-cocoa\, coffee\, and 99¢ gumbo. DESCRIPTION:Cornhole on the beach! It doesn’t get much better than that! \nThe Gulf Coast Cornhole Series consists of monthly qualifying tournaments and a championship tournament spanning the Gulf Coast between February and October. If pre-registering\, it’s $20 per team. Teams that sign up at the registration booth the day of the tournament pay $30/team. Registration goes from 11 AM-11:45 AM. We begin playing at 12 PM and play until we have winners for both the Rookies and Masters divisions.  \nOver $1000 in prizes given out at qualifying tourneys throughout the series\, and $1000 in cash and prizes given at championship.
