Highway 98 runs 671 miles from the Alabama-Florida state line to southern Florida. In the immediate area, 98 can take travelers east to Destin, Florida, or west to the Fort Walton Beach, Florida mainland. Most lodging and plenty of dining and nightlife is found on Santa Rosa Blvd. With plenty of crosswalks, sidewalk space, and a low speed limit, Santa Rosa Blvd is ideal for walking, biking, and alternative forms of Okaloosa Island transportation.
